County Materials is proud to host our annual charity golf event and ensure that every dollar contributed goes directly to the charities supported by the Sonnentag Foundation. Our 2015 event, held September 3 at the Wausau Country Club (Schofield, WI), was a huge success! Everyone hit the links knowing a great round of golf is helping to raise dollars, raise awareness and build relationships with people who support a common cause. We are excited to announce that the combined contributions from participants and supporters during our 2015 event raised more than $140,000!
We thank our generous 2015 event sponsors!
As a result of your generous contributions, combined with those from other event participants and supporters, the Sonnentag Foundation has donated more than $465,650 to worthwhile community programs and charitable organizations since we began hosting a charity golf outing in 2007. We are excited to share how these funds are being used to make a very real difference for children, families and people in the communities where County Materials has locations. Scholarship Opportunity for children of Central Processing Corporation employees.
The Sonnentag Foundation is a strong advocate for continuing education. Our goal is to inspire the next generation of leaders and innovators, and especially encourage young people who want to pursue studies and careers in the construction and landscape industry.
The Sonnentag Foundation has established a scholarship program to assist children of Central Processing employees who plan to continue their education beyond high school. The program supports a wide range of educational options, including vocational and technical training, and associate and bachelor’s degrees. Students can apply for one $1,500 scholarship to be applied toward an accredited institution in a field of study of the student’s choice.
Eligible students must be:
A dependent child includes an unmarried, natural or legally adopted child, stepchild, and any other child for whom the employee has been appointed legal guardian. All applicants must be under the age of 24. Full-time study is defined as carrying a full course load for the entire upcoming academic year. Students must have received a high school diploma. Awards are for one year only. Each student can only submit one application for consideration.
If selected as a recipient, a student will receive a $1,500 scholarship award during the following year of undergraduate study. The Sonnentag Foundation processes payments on behalf of Central Processing Corporation. Awards are paid in one installment at the beginning of the second semester of school, and only after the Sonnentag Foundation has received a paid second semester fee statement as well as a grade report from the first semester. It is the student’s responsibility to present the Sonnentag Foundation with these documents. Checks are mailed to each recipient’s home address and are made payable to the school for the student.
To apply for the Sonnentag Foundation scholarship, interested students must complete the application in full and submit the required essays to the Foundation no later than July 31. Applicants are responsible for gathering and submitting all necessary information. Applications are evaluated on the information supplied; therefore, please answer all questions as completely as possible. Incomplete applications will not be evaluated. All information received is considered confidential and is reviewed only by the Sonnentag Foundation.
Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of academic record, demonstrated leadership, participation in school and community activities, honors, work experience, statement of goals and aspirations, and unusual or challenging personal or family circumstances a student has overcome or is overcoming. Selection of recipients is made by the Sonnentag Foundation without regard to race, color, creed, religion, age, gender, disability or national origin. The Scholarship Committee will provide a letter of decision to applicants, and a certificate will be issued prior to the beginning of the coming school year. All applicants agree to accept the decision of the Sonnentag Foundation as final.
Recipients are required to supply the Sonnentag Foundation with a paid second semester fee statement, as well as a grade report from their first semester. It is the student’s responsibility to present the Sonnentag Foundation with these documents as well as any changes of address, school enrollment, or other relevant information. Central Processing reserves the right to review the conditions and procedures of this scholarship program and to make changes at any time, including termination of the program.
